Room Coordinator

The Big Top Nursery in Waddesdon is currently looking for a Room Coordinator to join our friendly team. The position is based within our Big Tops Room which caters for children aged 2-3 years.

Your role as Room Coordinator includes:

  • working with and supporting the Room Leader and Preschool Room Coordinator

  • supervise, support and lead the team in the room leaders absence.

  • liaise with and support parents, carers and other childcare professionals providing information as appropriate under the guidance of the manager.

  • show potential new families around the setting during viewings.

  • work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the nursery's philosophy is fulfilled.

  • to mentor team members

  • To ensure the smooth and efficient running of the room.

  • Having a sound understanding of a child's developmental requirements and to provide a range of stimulating learning experiences designed to meet each child's individual needs.

You must have:

  •  a genuine desire to care for children in a safe and stimulating environment.

  • a minimum of 2 years experience in a nursery after qualifying.

  • an understanding of the EYFS

  • an awareness of planning, observing and record keeping procedures

  • an understanding of nursery safeguarding polices and procedures.

  • experience of leading a team.

The role is full time Monday-Friday 40 hours a week on a rotating shift pattern of 7:15-4:30 and 9:00-6:00.







Qualified Early Years Practitioner

We are currently looking for a Qualified Early Years Practitioner to join our Baby and Toddler Room.

Your role will include:

  • maintaining professional and respectful relationships at all times whist working as part of a team.

  • be committed to quality teaching and learning, formulating and operating a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children.

  • creating a warm and welcoming environment.

  • being  a key person to a group of key children, liasing with parents and giving a detailed account of the child's day.

  • contributing to planning.

  • Implementing systems of obervation and record keeping

  • working to provide and mantain a safe, inclusive, supportive, exciting environment for young children to learn and thrive in.

  • Having a high awareness of safeguarding and child protection

  • promoting childrens Personal Social and Emotional, Communiation and Language and Physical Development.

Candidates must:

  • have a level 2 or 3 in Childcare
  • experience of working with children under 2
  • be able to demonstrate a passion for and commitment to teaching and learning with the focus on delivering quality learning outcomes for childen. 
  • use own initative.
  • demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills
  • be self-motivated, innovative, reflective and prepared to think beyond the boundaries.
  • have a good understanding of the EYFS and Safeguaridng requirments
  • have a passion for working in childcare and very high standards.
  • be reliable, trustworthy and honest, as well as a good absence and time keeping record.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality. 

The role is full time Monday-Friday 40 hours a week with various shift patterns.
